These are all things we should all do every day but don't always think about. Let me guide you through these 7 simple steps so that you can start being a hero to others.

A lot of people think heroes are only found in TV shows or movies but that's not true, there are real heroes out there who inspire us every day with their actions.

  • A hero is someone you look up to and admire.
  • Heroes provide us with the motivation we need to do what's right.
  • Heroes are people who set an example for others through their actions, words, or accomplishments.
  • There are many different types of heroes- parents, teachers, grandparents, other strong leaders, etc.
And sometimes we need to take some time and examine who they are and what they do that makes them a hero and then take a look at ourselves and decide what we need to do to be more like them in our own lives.

Before we get too deep into this let’s go over the definition of a hero so we can frame our minds around what that really means.

Definition of a Hero:

Hero:
: a person who is admired for great or brave acts or fine qualities
: a person who is greatly admired
: one who shows great courage

Do you know anyone in your life that would fit this description?

Take a moment to think of someone. Why do you think of this person as a hero? What qualities do they have, what type of character traits do they show?

Write their name down and start thinking about them and why you would consider them a hero.

Here are some things to look for that would make someone a hero:

1. A hero is someone who leads others, even when they are scared
2. A hero is someone who knows the importance of doing what's right
3. A hero is someone who does not give up on their dreams
4. They inspire people to follow them
5. They are able to stand up for what they believe in, even when it is unpopular
6. They can put their own needs aside and focus on others

7 Ways To Become A Hero To Others

1. Be kind to others and show empathy
Being kind to others and showing empathy is the best way you can help people. If you want to help someone, just be there for them because sometimes a smile or a hug can make all the difference in their day.

2. Be honest, and live with integrity.
If you want to be a hero and influence others in your life, you need to be honest with them. Integrity is the best way to show that honesty because it truly is one of the most important parts of being a good person.

3. Put others before yourself
There are many ways that you can be a hero to others. One way is by putting others before yourself. This means making self-sacrifices and helping others as much as possible despite your own circumstances.

4. Do the right thing, no matter what the cost even when it's scary
It is honorable to sacrifice for others even if you don’t fully know what to do and helping them takes you out of your comfort zone.

5. Take responsibility for your actions and words
If you are willing to take responsibility for your actions and words, you can be a hero to others.

6. Persevere through difficult situations - don't give up when things get tough!
One of the most important things you can do in life is persevere. No matter what happens, hold your head high and keep going. By doing so you will be an example to those around you of the benefits of perseverance.

7. Be grounded in biblical truths.
Being grounded in biblical truths is one of the best ways to be a hero to others. In fact, by pursuing truth and honor, you will set an example for other people that they can look up to.

You don't become a hero by looking inside. It is through Christ that you will find a true hero and in God's word.

“Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers, but his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law, he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers.” Psalm 1:1-3 ESV

"A hero is an ordinary individual who finds the strength to persevere and endure in spite of overwhelming obstacles."
Christopher Reeve

"Nothing is given to man on earth - the struggle is built into the nature of life, and conflict is possible - the hero is the man who lets no obstacle prevent him from pursuing the values he has chosen."
Andrew Bernstein

"The thing about a hero is even when it doesn't look like there's a light at the end of the tunnel, he's going to keep digging, he's going to keep trying to do right and make up for what's gone before, just because that's who he is."
Joss Whedon

"A hero is no braver than an ordinary man, but he is brave five minutes longer."
Ralph Waldo Emerson

"A hero is someone who has given his or her life to something bigger than oneself."
Joseph Campbell
